In the case of my Jayco, the RV fridge is provided with a serious, louvered, external vent grill, and my guess is that these newer models that don't even OFFER RV fridge have no such vent grill, so that would seem to present a significant hurdle for an upgrade project.
We've had the smaller 2-door RV fridge in two different RVs, and have found that it is perfectly adequate for two people if you aren't going to be spending a whole lot of time a long way from a grocery store.
