Last fall we got rid of our Norcold 1200 and replaced it with a Samsung RF197 18 CuFt residential fridge. We added a separate 600 watt PSW inverter dedicated to run the fridge. We have 375 watts of solar and 4 six volt house batteries. The day after we installed the new fridge we went dry camping for two weeks with no problems. At night we would shut off the ice maker and the unit sips power at 125 watts A/C. Consistently overnight we would lose about 0.1 volts on the battery bank. Example at 10 PM the reading would be 12.6 volts and by 7 AM it would be down to 12.5.
No problem going down the road as the coach engine charges the house batteries. So far after 5 months of use and about 6 weeks total dry camping we have not had any power issues. Without watching TV at night we need the generator about an hour a day in the AM when making coffee, toast and running the microwave.
We would never go back to a propane fridge.
