The silence of not running the generator while you are in the coach is pleasant, as is the courtesy of not running it when it might disturb people who are in the vicinity. The additional batteries, solar panels, and electronics just add to complexity. The complaints I had read that prompted this topic were about NEW coaches, from major manufacturers. If you need more batteries and solar panels to make the RR livable in a variety of environments, then they should supply them and not make a product aimed at electronics hobbyists. Back when they gave buyers a CHOICE of refrigerator, that was fine. But now several of those mfrs don't. Constantly having to be aware of your power budget is unpleasant at best and not consistent with what is supposed to be a recreational activity.
