In starting this topic I was looking for a post from someone who has actually done an upgrade to RV fridge, or heard of it being done, to a coach that was not originally offered with one from the factory. But thus far no one has come forward with such a tale. Anyone?
Chances are NO
RV fridge to residential......YES many folks have done that!
Residential to RV propane fridge.
LP line....connections
DC wiring and fuse allotted
Vents.......lower one in side wall and a roof vent (or upper in side wall if in a slide out)
Little cabinet rework
Proper clearances/insulation requirements
Chances are NO......
On Edit:
I'm not sure I would change out to a residential
I have had many RV fridges and none have failed me.
Absorption fridges have been in use longer than compressor models.
Mfg. cutting corners/cost cutting measures lead to failures on some units which rightfully gave them a bad name.....so I understand those swapping out to residentials.
If I was in the market for new RV....I'd want one with regular absorption fridge.
