Connect one pair of wires to the "Line" terminals of the GFCI and temporarily tape or wire nut the other pair. Turn on the breaker. If the GFCI has power, turn off the breaker and connect the other pair to the "Load" terminals. If no power, move the connected pair to the "Load" terminals and connect the remaining pair to the "Line" terminals. Pay attention to the correct neutral and hot terminal orientation of course.
