I can see four options:
1: Getting the wife comfortable with driving the "C".
2: Finding a "B" with four beds. This can be difficult.
3: Tow a small teardrop or hard-sided tent trailer like an A-Liner. I'd lean more towards the A-Liner because you can get one with a bathroom, heater, and other items. Both can double as storage when the kids are not with you.
4: Find a small Sprinter "C". The typical corner queen floorplan can sleep 5-6, two on the queen, two in the cabover, and 1-2 on the dinette.
The cheapest would be #1. Even offering the DW a trip to the Caribbean in return for her learning how to drive the "C" would be cheaper overall.
