- maillemakerExplorerYes, we have done so. We do not use a Genturi or any other exhaust management system. We have 2 CO detectors, one in each main sleeping area, and a hard-wired CO/Propane detector. I have never had a problem.
Steve - memtbExplorerYes.....whenever needed. But, we have two (2) CO detectors. Unlikely that both would fail at the same time. Redundancy.....is often a good thing!

Yes under the right conditions I think CO can enter any RV. I have had it happen to me a couple of times with different RV's. I was never sleeping when it happened. - Matt_ColieExplorer IIWe have slept over out Onan more than a few times.
We have a good CO monitor and the only time the generator (APU) set it off, my daughter had left a rear window open.
It is actually easier to sleep over the APU than it is the Suburban coach heater.
Matt - JaxDadExplorer IIII do it all the time in really hot humid weather, but in my case the genny is in the rear with its tailpipe pointing out back and the nearest opening is (closed) windows some 10’ away and one the sides.
That and being a pilot I park nose into the wind wherever possible, rain hitting the back wall is *really* loud, so any fumes are being swept away from the m/h. - ronfishermanModerator

Mine has never gone off. But a friend who was parked at a Walmart had his go off. Was caused by nearby motorhome running its generator. - prolandsurveyorExplorerHas your carbon monoxide detector ever went off while running your generator?
- romoreExplorer IIWith the fan and generator running I would have trouble sleeping. I hate the furnace but sometimes have to live with it though.
- pianotunaNomad IIIPhil,
Great idea with the roof vent and fan. I'm not terribly comfortable about running the generator. - txneseExplorerWe have at rest stops and wally mart, and we have CO2 detectors. No issues yet, but I do like PNichols idea with the cabin air pressure. I start doing that from now on.
