- rockhillmanorExplorer IIRegarding where are the brains of the manufacturers of MH's when it comes to "things that exhaust and are hot to the touch":
I found MH's that exhaust the furnace, water heater, and/or gen on the side of the awning right under the awning. :S
Exhaust, and dangerously hot items all under where you are going to sit with family and maybe small children when RV'ing, go figure.
My hot water heater exhausts right under the kitchen window above the sink and comes right into the coach. To this day I'll flip the hwh switch and go back into the bedroom and then start smelling the exhaust and go running to close the window. - 2oldmanExplorer II

No. That means it's well over 100 during the day. I couldn't take that even as a younger man.
Just curious: It's about 90 degrees outside now and it's just after midnight. For you folks that dry-camp and don't use your genset, do you camp in something like this? - Kayteg1Explorer II

Not sure about that 15 year rule. I have been sleeping in my 1988 Prevost since we bought it in 1999. While the genset is up front, it exhausts out the rear of the coach along with the diesel heat exhaust (guess that's going to kill me, too). I wonder if anyone sleeps in their coach with their Aqua-Hot running?
I had Aqua Hot on only 1 coach and did not like it.
I hear a lot that lot of owners avoid using it due the stink.
Lastly AH is burning diesel in open flame, what I would believe is not emitting CO at danger level, but would be interesting to hear from manufacturer.
Beside, AH will burn fraction of fuel a genset will to run AC overnight. - mpierceExplorer

Oh-oh! You just opened ANOTHER can of worms. NOW I will be told I cannot use my heating system at night either! Might as well stay home. No AC at night, now no heat either! Won't be able to run a Suburban furnace either at night. It exhausts gas out the side of the MH or trailer! Deadly!
Why do mfg's even put these deadly killers in RV's in the first place? - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IINot sure about that 15 year rule. I have been sleeping in my 1988 Prevost since we bought it in 1999. If so, I am impressed. I used to do it when I camped in the open bed of a pick-up but I was young, tough and could sleep through a tornado back then.
- Mile_HighExplorerActually, I have found the manufacturer to be more conservative than most.
- RayChezExplorerI have with the Quiet diesel Onan 7500 which is in front of the coach with no problems, but I used to have a gasoline coach with the generator on the rear of the motor home and it triggered the alarm several times which made me nervous to run it anymore while sleeping.
So yes with the generator in front away from the bedroom and no to running generator on the rear close to the bedroom window. - rockhillmanorExplorer II:s
ANYONE answering a phone at a manufacture of an RV that includes a gen is of course going to tell you you can run it and not worry. It's up to the owner of the RV to run it SAFELY.
Ever hear of a manufacturer tell you there are tons of oversize drilled holes for plumbing, electric, etc under your RV that they leave that way and do not fill in? Where exhaust WILL come up thru, from your exhaust AND anyone parking next to you. - MondookerExplorerI believe his point was the class A's built in the last 15 years by known coach builder is built to run the generator day or night. Ok maybe it's 16 years or 14 years but I believe his point is valid.
"What kind of engineer is he" really?
