we will be traveling in a class with a toad and plan for the first time to visit florida in jan, feb and i am wondering if reservations are needed or if we an go on the fly? which is better for goin...

Depends. If you are going to travel the state and will be using a campsite for a night or two or three, reservations may not, probably not, be needed. Just be flexible in how many nights you want to stay. If you want to stay a week or more, without reservations, be willing to accept a site move during your stay. In fact when you ask the cg about availability, express your willingness to accept a site move. The longer the stay and the more inflexible you are as to which campground, how long etc., the more you will need reservations.
