We spend a lot of time in FL at a campground that is 850 sites, with a large amount of seasonals and permanent sites. Significant numbers of park models also.
The park is considered a 55+ park and allows golf cars with insurance, electric only. There are plenty of them there and sometimes we see people just cruising around visiting and looking at things. For the most part they just drive from their sites to the clubhouses, pool, post office and other activities. It's not really a problem, and certainly better than hearing the neighbor's Cummins powered Dodge pickup truck fire up a dozen times a day to do the same things.
I have a cart that I use around the property here for chores, etc. but have never hauled it down south, but that may change as we get older.
