I wouldn't worry about that. There's plenty of bacteria in the grey as well. I was thinking the risk was more in the way of a spill. Lots of things can happen when you start picking up the hose with an open valve. Wouldn't take much more than a mis-step or a hose that's been pulled out and put away too many times to have a nice mess.
