Goodby Sea Land Toilet

10 year old SeaLand. Just replaced the seal last week. In those famous words, "So easy a caveman could do it". 10 minutes at the most.

Question does the pipe that runs staight down in to a tank thread into the tank?? I think I need to replace mine due to some modifications which made it short for the stool mounting collar.

The seal in our 13 year old Sealand is still working just fine. Also keep water in the bowl all the time.

My two toilets came with a small plastic file-like cleaner you run around the seal that cleans it.

Going on 8 years and two toilets with the same seals...I'm a happy camper.

I also always keep water in my bowls to prevent the seals from drying out.

I just changed the seal in my Sea Land toilet yesterday. First time doing it...and I don't think it took 10-15 minutes, and some of that was reading and refering to the instructions to make sure I was doing it right. Next time, I doubt it would take much more then 5 minutes.

I installed a Style II toilet last year. One of the reasons I chose this unit was the ease of repair.

When you first look at replacing the seal it seems difficult, but when you actually do it, it goes fast and isn't hard. not much more than 10 minutes.

I agree that replacing the seal on a Sea Land toilet is a pain in the but, the seal in the Aqua-Magic looks to be about as bad. Just hope it last longer.
