The 'neutral' situation that I encountered on our '08 Dynasty happened I tried to downshift from 3 to 2 while going slow up a hill (cruise off). It went into a neutral mode so I drifted off to the side and stopped the coach and everything was fine then. I was new to all of this at the time and realized later I was asking the transmission to do something that might have damaged it.
Did your husband hit the neutral or did he try and downshift too many gears?

That was probably just a hiccup as you likely hit it just a the right (or, wrong) time and confused the tranny for a brief moment. However, in theory that really should have not happened. In "theory" that is. As you know, you should be able to down shift on your keypad just as you did without any adverse effect. Then again, there is a computer involved, so every once in a great while, things happen. I've had a couple of similar experiences myself with mine. Fortunately, they are very few and far between.
