Playing the Devil's advocate (or as some people believe I am the Devil), are you sure there wasn't something else to the story? Were the sites extremely close? Did you have a bright light? Were you moving about, in and out of the RV closing the door, popping tops on colas or beers, clinking in your chair while bouncing your legs? Something must have disturbed the guy, because he did come out and find you outside. When it is dead quiet, the most minor of sounds can be an annoyance. I have a few friends that could rightfully say they were just sitting outside resting in their lounge chairs not doing a thing, yet they would be waking up the entire park because they snore like a 747 at takeoff. They will also swear they weren't making a sound when you bash them upside the head to get them to stop. Not saying the guy wasn't crazy, or that he was in the right, but if he had all his windows open, and you were pretty close in a setting where it was very quiet, it wouldn't take much to make your presence known. It is really a matter of setting and situation.
