GPS mount
I got tired of the suction cup mount not staying in place, and not having a decently convenient location for accessibility.
I tried a base for the suction cup in this location, the base was really sticky but it seems GM plastics are immune to adhesives... even though I had cleaned the area with acetone.
I purchased this RAM mount on a whim, and found a 1" to Garmin ball size (apparently called a "B size") in a geocache - gee, this looks useful!
Yes, I put holes in the top of the dash, but also applied a good & thin double stick foam tape to the bottom of the mount:
Now it'll stay there, and it is in a very convenient location. Better yet, it obscures very little view out of the windscreen:
We tested this on a trip a couple of weeks ago - it works as designed.
Another project complete!
