In the end, the GPS is just a small TV with a wicked sense of humor.

Thanks, the extra waypoints can be added any time as I see?

The auto-reroute is the one that some GPS are not very good at, like you say, it will try to bring you back to your offroute point. The one I have in the pickup truck just reroute to rejoin the planned route the shortest or quickest possible, but does not necessarly want you back to where you got lost.

I have a small old garmin that tries to bring me the shortest route, but this one is not very smart, it will take me to an old farmer route to take a short cut!

I use my Microsoft quite often too, but I disable the option "Provide navigation". I have the GPS add on detector and I just look where I am according to the colored planned route and follow the route with the GPS only. When I use the GPS as a navigation guided voice, it very quickly reroute me as soon as I deviate just a tiny bit or if it looses the satelite a little, or for some other reason, and it is very very anoying to hear the Reroute, wrong route, reroute, reroute, wrong route, give me a brake, I already have one wife!

Copilot app for my android phone. $19 and you can put in the weight and height of your coach to avoid roads and bridges that you shouldn't be on.

No! That is the sweet part of the app! You just need to have data when you get the app and the map/s are loaded locally! So, even if there is no cell coverage and as long as you can get GPS coverage then you are good to go!

App sounds good for route planning but I wouldn't want my phone tied up for days on a trip. I use phone to locate fuel, food, RV parks. My opinion you need a dedicated GPS. I use the phone as a quick route check, at night when traveling, for the nexts days journey or for quick locations in a strange town before I head out. When driving I have a dedicated GPS for car and RV.

Phone is functional with GPS running in the background on my Android with Sygic. No broadband required.

Best part is we have two phones and one tablet all running the same GPS software and one (now $40) license fee paid three years ago.

A GPS is always in our pocket/purse....
