Yes, water from kitchen sinks has been shown to include harmful levels of bacteria that water from bathroom sinks and tubs does not include. They suspect that small food particles become stuck in kitchen traps, rot, and result in the growth of unhealthy levels of bad bacteria.
One of the other cornerstones of legal gray water use is not to store it, then dump, but rather to drain it out on a regular basis.
For both of these reasons, many RVers would find themselves on the "wrong" side of the law when it comes to gray water.
