California Health & Safety Code
Defininition of Graywater
17922.12. (a) For the purposes of this section, "graywater" means
untreated wastewater that has not been contaminated by any toilet
discharge, has not been affected by infectious, contaminated, or
unhealthy bodily wastes, and does not present a threat from
contamination by unhealthful processing, manufacturing, or operating
wastes. "Graywater" includes wastewater from bathtubs, showers,
bathroom washbasins, clothes washing machines, and laundry tubs,
but does not include wastewater from kitchen sinks or dishwashers.
On my coach the dishwater and shower go into the gray water tank. So NO dumping in California and if you do, you will be fined.
Visit Collins Lake campground and you'll be surprised that they encourage you to run your grey water onto the ground surrounding the lake.....a side note is their lake is regularly tested and is consistently found to be one of the cleanest in the area.....there are many places in California where it's permissible to dump your grey water, so please refrain from posting unreliable and/or unsubstantiated statements....thanks....Dennis
Dennis: I just called Collins Lake and they told me it was illegal to dump on the ground the grey water. They said we have a dump station for that. Lets not post something that is not true. PLEASE!
