Grey Tank Valve Stuck Closed

Need some help guys... Left my grey dump valve open, which I usually do until the black tank gets almost full.. Just checked the panel and discovered that the black is almost full and the grey is already full. OK, thought my ADD was kicking in so I went out to drain some grey water and discovered the I had, in fact, opened the valve. Unfortunately, it appears that it is stuck in the closed position and the handle is no longer attached. Looks open, but isn't.

I've searched the forum for hints, but found nothing helpful. I know I can't be the first guy this has happened to... I'm handy and can do most anything, what do I need to do????

That's the first thing I did, no luck. Looks like it might be open just a teeny bit, there is some dripping, but nothing else. I tried the usual "bang on it" thing too, and that did nothing either...
  • If the handle shaft has come all the way out (completely separated from the valve body), you could coat the end in Araldite or similar, push it back in and it may hold enough to allow you to open the gate and get rid of the waste, then replace the valve.
  • Try to screw the handle back into the gate.
    Usually works.
