- EffyExplorer IIMaybe I am missing something. You talking about with or without hookups? With full hookups - of course.
- egh33ExplorerI usually dump my grey tank right after the black tank to wash out the hose. But most camp sites I've been in does not allow grey water dumping except in the sewer. Some of the drier climates I've been in allowed you to dump your grey water on the trees.
- tonymullExplorerDepends on the campground. Dumping gray water that contains food particles or even soap can draw critters, like bears, to your campsite. Best to drain into a bucket and pour away from camp or into an outhouse.
- rockhillmanorExplorerWhether it is allowed or not "please" remember that gray water STINKS. Don't care if it is you shower water, dish water or whatever it STINKS.
I have parked next to RV's that have dumped and/or kept their gray tank open. And I am here to tell you first hand gray water stinks.
And you are also leaving behind a "wet" and stinky ground for the next camper. Just saying think of other campers and dump gray water where it belongs at the dump station. - jarata1ExplorerPlus it's rude
- I don't know about every state but here in PA it is illegal to dump grey water on the ground.

I often wonder is dumping Grey Water permitted in campsites, if so where. I have never done it but I am curios
in 30-years of travel we've only run across one park that permitted that and even encouraged it. I won't say you won't run across these places but they'll be dang few and far between. don't do it. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIIt stinks and also if you dump 50 gallons and then leave the next person in your site has to deal with the stink, foodstuffs and soggy ground.
How difficult is it to dispose of it properly? - 2oldmanExplorer IIYes it stinks.. for about 20 minutes until the ground absorbs it. No matter if it comes from a 5th wheel or a Class A.

3 groups of men were ask what kind of underware they wore, Boxers or Briefs..
As I recall the younger men said Briefs
The middle age said "Boxers"
and the seniors.... "Depends"
And that happens to be the answer
There are 3 classes of waste water, not two as most think
Black: MUST be put in a proper "Hole in the ground" (Sewer or septic system). nation wide.. in fact in some places if you use selected black tank chemicals you may not dump PERIOD... (Formaldehyde containing formulas).
The next is GRAY,,, Some places it is legal to dump on the ground, and some campgrounds have gray water dump sites scattered about as well.... This is waste water that may contain food particles but does NOT contain human waste.
WASH water.. Basically gray water without the food (Shower, Washing machine, Bathroom sinks).
Even more places allow this to be dumped on the ground..
Now: if the CG has gray water dumps, they are labeled as such, So you are good to dump there... (In the dump pit) they are usually designed for bucket dumping as opposed to hose dumping.
Otherwise you'd have to ask,, and there is a danger in asking in that if you do they may assume you intend to do it and say "No vacancy"
