Grey Water Dumping

I often wonder is dumping Grey Water permitted in campsites, if so where. I have never done it but I am curios
  • I don't know about every state but here in PA it is illegal to dump grey water on the ground.
  • Whether it is allowed or not "please" remember that gray water STINKS. Don't care if it is you shower water, dish water or whatever it STINKS.

I have parked next to RV's that have dumped and/or kept their gray tank open. And I am here to tell you first hand gray water stinks.

And you are also leaving behind a "wet" and stinky ground for the next camper. Just saying think of other campers and dump gray water where it belongs at the dump station.
  • Depends on the campground. Dumping gray water that contains food particles or even soap can draw critters, like bears, to your campsite. Best to drain into a bucket and pour away from camp or into an outhouse.
  • I usually dump my grey tank right after the black tank to wash out the hose. But most camp sites I've been in does not allow grey water dumping except in the sewer. Some of the drier climates I've been in allowed you to dump your grey water on the trees.

Maybe I am missing something. You talking about with or without hookups? With full hookups - of course.
