Personally I would not worry about that hitch rating for towing a half ton 4 down. the truck will need its own brakes either way.
Hitch rating is 10,000 lbs. I've looked into the braking and towing set up. Company said they run about $3,000.
A READYBRUTE/ELITE from NSA online (tried and proven by many) should be less than $1500 for everything and brand new, at that, if you can install it yourself. If not, find a friend/neighbor with a gear head for a kid, to do it for you. I would have loved having jobs like that, when I was 16yrs old or so.
