Our first TT was a POC (Shasta) nothing but problem after problem. The service guy gave us a piece of good advice. If you aren't willing and able to fix things or keep them fixed - owning a RV probably isn't for you. He was right for the most part.
Back when we started camping we weren't web knowledgable or aware of the forums to learn. So it was a learning curve. We started doing our own research on the web eventually and learned from our own experiences.
IMHO there are some manufactures out there who have a reputation and somewhat deserved ( from our own experience) for putting out problematic products. Due to keeping the thread civil I'll refrain from mentioning them.
So it's been a big learning curve for us. But I think these days there is pleanty of great ways to do research for those just starting to avoid product that others have experienced as being questionable or known to be questionable. Heck even today you can learn awful quickly which dealers to avoid right down to a salesperson.
Our last two purchases went the best and we purchased product we heavily researched and it paid off. So after taking the service managers advice years ago we knew there would always be things that creep up. It got better every purchase going forward.
The Internet is your friend. Some people refuse to heed the warnings as we see it here all the time.
Happy camper - always have been - just got happier over the years learning as we go and work through the issues, even if that means selling a problem.
