Happy with Thor customer service

In the last two days I have called Thor for a issue with our shower door needing parts and then a tech problem with our water heater. In both calls I was treated great. The lady in the parts dept, Kathy, volunteered to send me the hinge pins I needed and there is no charge. Today I quickly got a return call from the tech dept. and the tech was so kind and patient as he helped me with my problem. So, my experience with Thor is wonderful.

  • Ditto on the customer support. We've owned lots of RVs over the years and Thor's responsiveness tops them all. As to the build quality, we've had a few nits here and there (I'm dealing with the BCC recall now), but I'm not sure there's much of a difference across manufacturers. I've been reading about the utter disaster that some poor guy had with a $400,000 Winnebago Tour, and all I can say is I sure am glad I bought my little Thor ACE! (The story is here: RV Travel Newsletter.)

I totally agree. Customer service is very important to me and I will continue to buy a product even if it means sacrificing quality for a company that supports their product without hesitation. Thor is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with. All that said, I have dealt with Thor a lot. And as much of a pleasure as it is, I would like a product that didn’t need so much support. Thor is the only brand I have owned so maybe they are all that way, but providing excellent customer service to support a sub quality product while makes me sleep better does nothing for my confidence in the product itself. I am sure all MH’s have their issues but some of this stuff makes me wonder what the guys on the line were doing the day mine rolled across. I’ll continue to rave about Thor’s support and customer service. Top notch. But maybe they could spend less effort on the service side if they spent more energy on the build side. Thor is innovative and comes out with some really good ideas. But if it were not for the fact of their stellar customer support, I am not sure I’d buy another Thor product based on quality alone. Maybe it’s a case of getting what you pay for. Maybe I am spoiled being a Ford truck owner. 6 years 125k miles and not one single problem. Ever. Wish the RV industry operated that way.
  • I also have had great service from Thor. Even after my MH was out of the manufacturer warranty, they have always been there to help when I had questions. We had some major issues in the first year and they made everything right and stood behind their product.
  • I had the same great experience the only time I needed to contact them. Yep, there are fancier and better built motorhomes available, but a LOT of the companies are now out of business so that means NO customer service from the manufacturer at all. GREAT JOB, THOR!
