Hardwired surge protector for Thor ACE 30.1

Has anyone installed a hardwired surge protector on their Thor ACE 30.1. If so where did you mount it. I would rather place a hardwired protector then a portable one due to theft and the weather.

    It needs to be close to the incoming power if possible. Mine is a portable one. No problem with theft or weather in 10 years.
