- the_bear_IIExplorerKeep in mind CarFax is only good if the repairs or accidents were reported to carfax. This disclaimer appears on the CarFax website and in very small print on their ads.
When I was looking for a new tow vehicle I found a perfect truck...just what I wanted. The salesman whipped out the carfax and handed it to me. It showed no accidents, no major repairs only normal maintenance. Plus the truck was a certified Chevrolet used car/truck, which means it should have gone through an inspection process.
When I drove the truck it pulled hard to the right and there was a loud clunking noise from the right anytime we hit a bump. It sounded like a shock was loose.
As I looked over the right front I could tell it had been in a bad accident but repaired very well. There were tale-tell signs plus the alignment/steering issue and banging, couldn't find the source.
I walked away, the salesman kept saying that the CarFax was clear.
Don't trust CarFax alone...have the MH inspected by a good mechanic with RV experience.
