Have you been to the rv museum in Amarillo, TX?

We are traveling home and currently in TX. My wife was on the web and read about this museum. has anyone been there and what did you think? is it worth going to? http://www.rvmuseum.net/
  • there is a lot of good information on these replies. unfortunately, we determined that going there was a 4 hour drive out of our way, so we skipped going there. hope we did not make a mistake. thanks all for your feedback
  • We were there last October and did the museum. Very interesting. The folks at the dealership are very nice. Also in the town of Palo Dura there is a museum of Texas plains history. Very large, very detailed and very worthy of a visit.

Was in Amarillo. Didn't know about it so we didn't go. We DID visit the Cadillac Ranch and apply some graffiti. From I-40, you'll see it in a field to the south, just on the west edge of town. Take the first exit west of town and double back east on the service road.
  • We stopped there last month.
Best thing to do in Ammarillo.
Very interesting RVs and HD motorcycles.
There are so many intersting details in the displays.
Gas pumps from back in the day, camping utinsils,
just all kinds of camping items from the era.
Free and nice folks at the RV dealer.
  • We've been there. It was very interesting. Not very big, but a fun stop.
  • We went with a group of friends this spring break. It's free, fun, and worth the stop. They are a dealer and have RV supplies but there is no pressure to buy anything. Very nice collection. There were people ranging from small kids to 70 in our group. Everyone enjoyed it.
  • Haven't been to that one, but the one in Indiana is beyond awesome... you walk up in time through the entire history of RV's, starting about 1914.

Liked it so much, we're going again!

  • If it's not too far out of your way, just visit the museum and give us a review.
Someone on the forum has to be first. :)
  • It looks like an interesting place to visit. Plus, You could spend the night at their RV park.
