- ChowanExplorerWOW so surprised but so glad you all answered so quickly. Your info is very encouraging.
- gboppExplorerWe're still using our 96 Southwind. Runs great.
- BB_TXNomadUsuage, care, and maintenance mean more than years. I would rather find a 20 yr old rig barely used and well cared for than a 5 yr old rig road hard and put up wet.

yep, my chieftain was about 13 years old when I traded it off. a good buy for somebody. and low mileage often causes the term "lot rot" to appear. I don't think it rots anymore sitting in my yard than sitting somewhere else around the country.
bumpy - dieharderExplorerI bought my '99 five years ago.

- BobandShazExplorerWe bought an older MH because of the features we wanted are not on newer MHs in our price
- romoreExplorer IIMany of us are very happy with older rv's. Our fiver is age 25 and other than some rot which I knew about and fixed we have had no problems at all. They generally require more frequent maintenance as they age, don't we all, so the owner should have some mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge to avoid breaking the bank.
- JerryofWVExplorerWe bought a 2005 Monaco Monarch SE a year ago. We like it so well that I just had full body paint put on it. The bath and half floor plan is just what we wanted. We plan on keeping it for several years.
I preferred buying a good quality older coach than a less quality newer one.
