"azrving" brings up a good point. We've been married for 40 years and have had a residential fridge in the house since the day we got married. We've also had a residential fridge in an RV for the last nine years. We've never had one go bad and when we did replace one (remodel) we always gave away or sold the old one, which still worked well. Never once has one broken or needed repair.
I know they CAN need repair, but the odds are against it.
