it's 80 thru wyoming and 40 thru amarillo. we travel 44/40/17 fm st louis to mesa,az and back each spring. other than the climb towards flagstaff and a couple smaller climbs in albuquerque 40 is pretty flat. in trrms of road condition 40 is in pretty good shape except IN flagstaff and IN amarillo. if you live in st charles then you should know how bad 44/55 is IN st louis. if you're coming back on 80 then i'd definitely take 40 in.
Thanks, changed to routes. It's now correct. I like 80, especially the weather in August but there such long stretches of nothing.:)
