I don't know your time of travel ,but you might like the KOA east (near Black Mountain) better if you want more privacy and the river and lake are absolutely beautiful. I've stayed at both ( my son lives in Asheville)and I much more like the KOA. The Bear Creek hasn't a creek and the sites are very close and tight.
