Asheville/Biltmore area RV Parks

Been using RV Park reviews to find a decent park south of Asheville, fairly close to the Biltmore. All of them, including the KOA, seem to have mediocre reviews with some getting poor marks. Since this is a high tourist area, it seems that there must be a decent park within a reasonable distance from the Biltmore. Does anyone know of a gem RV Park that is hiding in the area?
Looking to spend a week in Mid-January.

    KOA East in Swannanoa is where we stayed. They have some sites on the little river there which are backins. We liked it better than KOA West.
    Sadly, mot much to choose from in the area.
    Mama Gertie's is nice at your site, beautifully landscaped, but it's on the side of a mountain and walking is difficult if that's important to you.

    Thanks, Mama Gerties sounds pretty nice and we don't mind it being on a mountain. May even have some snow in mid-January. One review talked about narrow steep roads getting to the park and narrow roads within but that has never bothered me at other locations that required driving on a narrow road.

    The Swannonoa KOA is a really nice park, we were there in August and would definately return. There are sites in the rear of the park that over look the pond/lake that are superb.

    Mama Gerties is nice, but it's really a mountain rv park and as others have said, going for a stroll will certainly be an adventure!

    We've stayed there and the people are great, and if you get a premium spot you won't be disappointed. The other spots are good but the views from the premium spots are great. Not far from Asheville and the Parkway.

    I would imagine that in mid-January not too many people are going to be there to take the premium sites. That is one of the reason we travel mostly in the Winter.

    Campfire Lodgings is a great spot, but the climb up the hill with the switchbacks and the gullies on each side are a real hair raiser. There was an old GM bus that ran off when we were there, quite an ordeal to get out. Beautiful once you get up there and a great area to visit!
