Headlight

have a 2000 fleetwood tioga class C ford e-450 triton V-10
And one of the headlight is loose and will not seat into the chassis
I have tried looking online to find a website on how to repair/replace the entire headlight but no luck. It looks like a peg type fitting seats the lamp into the chassis but mine keeps popping out and becomes loose
Can someone help me out or assist me in the right direction
  • I've used the $3 headlight cleaner they sell at auto stores with good success. As far as fit of the headlight, make sure it's the right lamp. I bought the wrong part # once and it looked proper, but never fit right. Duh!
  • Rockauto.com

They probably have a complete headlamp assembly.
  • car toys offers a headlight restoration service for $99. was thinking of trying that myself. amazon offers some pretty cool headlight frame that include daylight LED lights. reviews are mixed so I'm holding off for now.

Ford Headlight Cataracts... There is, of course, a uTube... Basically it involves wet sanding till the film is removed, working up (toward finer) in grit numbers to somewhere around 2000, maybe it was 3000. Final sanding is done parallel to the ground to eliminate swirls and vertical lines. Then spray the surface with Krylon's clear paint in their product line that's meant for plastic. Econoline would be easier than many because you can simply pull the lamp out to work on it. Harder, though, because up to 2007 they still had bumps to set an aiming device onto. Newer lamps don't so there's a flat surface to sand down.
  • I wanted to change the lenses because they were all scratched and dull. I could not find single ones.

Went down to a Ford dealsership and they looked it up for me. They came as an assembly for $500.00 for both/installed. For me, I needed the lights to be bright enough to safely drive at night so I bought the assembly. Call Ford it might depend on the year but for me I had to buy the assembly.

This search in gOOgle without the quote marks "replace econoline headlight" has text and uTube on how to change the headlights, and a few suppliers of headlights. The one I looked at had a new light under $20.00.
