Heat Pump A/C Problem

I never know what I am going to find every time I go in the MH. The MH sets beside the garage at the house, went to exercise the Generator went to put a load on it, the front worked fine the rear would kick on then kick off just as soon as it kicked on, not worried about it now not going any where will get it checked out in the spring. Thought I would ask if any one have any ideas what it might be, it did fine when I started it up about a month and a half ago. Thanks
Roy

  • I would think that a regular AC tech would be able to work on them since the newer units use R410 freon and work like a residential unit.
  • Ivylog: I tried that even cut the front off. Can a regular A/C Technician work on this or do I need a RV Tech. I have a problem finding a RV Tech. where I am at. Roy

Try setting the Tstat temp only a couple of degrees above the inside temp and see if it keeps running.
  • Its 58 out now. Temp. not an issue the heat pump kicks on then kicks off just as soon as it kicks on.

  • Since you are talking about heat pumps, what was the outside temps? Some will only operate down to mid to low 30's. With two units it would make sense that one might have a slightly different operating temperature range than the other.
