I'm confused. Do I need a track bar or a better sway bar? I just want to be more stable when I get passed by tractor trailers.
I've discovered riding my tires at the placard recommended settings make the ride and steering suffer. I keep the backs at 80 and I dropped the fronts from 75 (placard recommendation if riding max) to 70. That helped. It also helped when I traveled w/ no water (my water tanks are right behind the rear bumper so it really unloads the front axle).
I could probably drop my fronts to 65, but I'm hesitant to do so. I haven't gotten it weighed, but I do have 2900+ pounds of OCCC in my rig. We don't pack it heavy by any means (and I know what heavy is having come from a trailer background).
From what you state is your goal, you need a rear trac bar. This will help when meeting large trucks/budes, when large trucks/buses pass you and with high cross/side winds. Tire pressure can definitely affect handling. I too reduced my front tire pressure slightly, but I do not remember exactly the pressure I ran. I sold my class C a few years ago.
