I had a Ford E-150 that had a starting problem: turn key, 1 click, no cranking. If I turned the key 3 or 4 times, the engine would crank and start. The battery was good.
I tracked the problem down to a bad starter relay. On mine, the starter relay was located next to the battery, but was tucked away and mostly hidden. Follow the wires from the battery positive post.
