HELP! 1st time Class A search

Not new to camping but new to the Class A world. Built a great new garage last year to house our TT and now of course we want to upgrade to a class a. Limit is 33'. So that puts me in the gassers and I am ok with that.

Looking at Winnebago Vista LX 30T, Fleetwood Flair 30U, Jayco Precept 30UL and Newmar 3124 or 3113.

Any thoughts? We absolutely love all the features of the Jayco (large fridge, 2 AC pretty much standard, very nice outdoor TV, etc) but hear horror stories on the Jayco quality. Several dealers currently have left over 2016 models less than $100K.

Not sure if we would like the buffet style table of the Winnebago.

The shower in the Fleetwood was tiny but everything else seemed pretty nice.

No comments really needed on the Newmar, just can't find a good deal on one right now. Also with the full slide, it seems the storage compartments would be hard to get to.

Thanks for your inputs
  • That's one of my few dislikes about Newmar, crawling under the slide to open the basement storage.
  • What is your height limit? We had an existing carport when we went looking for a new my and we had to limit our selections. Instead of a Newmar Baystar we went with the Bay Star Sport.

You are correct about the bay's being hard to get to when the slides are out. I've changed my setup procedure to remove the stuff I will need from the bay's before I extend the slides. Doesn't work all the time, but does help. I have the same issue with the non full slides as well.

I think you can find a diesel in the length you want, but the Ford based gassers are just fine.
  • just wondering if anyone had any more thoughts? Also looking at Coachman as well.
  • I really like my Georgetown. As all, regardless of brand, new RV's you'll find something here or there wrong with it, especially new. If you can afford the cost of a Newmar you can't go wrong though. Have you looked at Tiffin Allegro's. They and Newmar are probably the top of the gas rigs. Good luck on your search and keep us tuned in as to what your research has shown brand/model by brand/model.
  • I see where Tiffin just introduced a 31' Allegra Breeze diesel pusher. Too bad I can't afford that....
