Help, broke down-.over heating Cat 350 near Needles CA

Sure, you can have bearing failure of the fan hub.

Caterpillar went to SEALED bearings on the C7 and very last of the 3126's after it became very obvious that very few were ever greasing (yes, regular grease zirk) that bearing.

Caterpillar does offer both styles as replacements-- sealed and greasable.

My order of preference:

Greasable that IS greased.
Sealed.
Greasable that is not greased.
