HELP No water psi after de winterizing 2006 cross county

Info on rv 2006 382 crosscounty coachmen.
Ok I am totally new to having a rv. I hooked up the hose to fill water tank and then flush out the antifreeze in the lines. I have fresh water tank filled and while I'm hooked to my hose I have water psi and when I turn hose off on the house I loose psi. When I turn back bathroom water on I hear the tank gurgle and it has very little water coming out of faucet. Kitchen sink has nothing. The outside shower very low Pressure and I can hear the system echoing. It's like I'm missing turning on a valve somewhere. The cross county water system has 4 valves and I have them all in the correct position for city/pump psi. Need help ASAP we are planning on first trip Friday.

  • I took pics of system any able to post them for me? I can email or text them to someone.
    Thanks

When your motorhome was winterized I assume you have a tube that was used to draw the anti freeze into the coach and through all the lines. I suspect that when you or whomever winterized the coach was finished they did not turn the valve to close that tube and connect the water tank. As a result no pressure. The valve is between the water tank and the pump and should have a clear tube attached.

I see where the connection is to have a tube go into the antifreeze tank. But my system there is no seperate valve it all part of the main system that I see. I will see if I can find a pic on line and post it.

  • I assume that you turned the bypass valve used to put antifreeze into system back to the water tank. Otherwise it will draw air.
  • When you're connected to City water, then your lines pressurize and water flows normally out of your faucets. That would suggest that all of your plumbing downstream of the pump is in good shape.

When you are not connected to City water, then you pump needs to turn on to pull water from your tank. I assume you know where the pump is. Can you tell if it is working? When you apply power, you should hear the pump running. Frequently there is a valve right after the pump used to drain your system. Some call it a low point valve also. If you open that valve when the pump is running, does the water come out with gusto? If it does, then you know your pump is primed and pumping. The problem is further downstream.

I assume you filled your water heater when connected to City water. Otherwise your pump could be spending time pushing water from your tank into your empty water heater.

Some pumps have a valve that direct the output of the pump to the downstream plumbing or back into the freshwater tank. I've never understood why they have it, but if you do, make certain your water is flowing downstream to faucets and not back to the tank.

Hope some of this helps or gives you clues... I'm curious what you find to be the answer!
  • Pump is on I have the valve set correct. There is 1 position for city or pump, one for fill, one to drain tanks and 1 for waste. I feel like I missed a valve. The owners manual is not helpful at all. I did move the hot water valves to opposite position to not bypass the hot water heater after I filled and flushed the antifreeze. It's like a missed a main water on valve. Do pumps go bad often to where there is no psi but the run? It did say in owners manual once the pump has psi it will auto turn off. That has not happened. I have filled grey tank to about 60 gallons of my 90 trying to get psi and air out if lines. What the hell am I missing
  • Really depends on how YOUR coach is plumbed. On many, the fill valve must be closed, or the pump will merely recirculate water from tank and back to tank.

Check your coach owners manual for how your system needs to be set to use water from the potable water tank.
  • Are you turning on the pump? When not connected to city water, pump should create and maintain pressure drawing from the fw tank.
