Dave, you are starting to convince me. I have seen your rig on various posts and applaud your dedication and innovation to your setup. I refuse to believe that these Class A's were meant to be "disposable" motorhomes once the powertrains failed. I mean, everything else on the coach is working great. With an investment of time and some money, I am convinced that I could have a reliable coach for the next 5-8 years. Total cost of ownership maybe $22-25,000 for 10-13 years of family motoring enjoyment. I don't like the idea of dumping this (without giving it away in its current state) and buying someone else's mechanical headaches, DP or not, for more money. My miserly attitude seems to be in the minority.
One question, Dave. How has the heat management been on that 502? Is it a hot runner like the 454? What performance differences do you notice on 87 octane vs. 89? What was your source for the engine?
Thanks,
Jamie
