I think this is a very personal thing in determining the size of your first MH. What are the type of cars that you like to drive, a large SUV, large Cadillac, or a small economy car? What was your previous camping experience. Did you like back packing or large pop-ups or trailers? Do you want to camp in FHU camp grounds or NP,SP or NF CG's. Does interior amenities like flat screen TV's or fireplaces excite you or would you rather sit outside around your own campfire. For myself I like simple things that work, in 10 years I think I watched the TV 6 times. I like NFS and NP,CG's. I enjoy sitting out side under the awning rather the the recliner inside. I chose a 33 ft with two pass thru storage bays. In one I store two bikes in another I store my ladder table and fishing rods. I also carry an inflatable raft that I have used all through Canada and Alaska. So for me 30- to 34 ft is ideal with ample storage, FW and CCC being the most important. We can all give you advice based on or own camping likes and dislikes but only you know how you will use it. If you decide you want something over 36 ft I would look at a used DP. Something between 26- 34 ft gas. I started looking at class B's then C's before settling with a 33ft A. Good luck with your search.
