We have a 39 foot diesel pusher and it has lots of room. Since you will spending the summer in it, you do not want to feel closed in. I recommend getting one with opposing slides in the living room. That really opens up the space. We lived in ours for three months while our house was being built and we never felt closed in. We were worried about the small space but it was never a problem. I think it was because we have high ceilings and the opposing slides.
Ditto on the opposing slides. We just moved from a 35' 5er to a 35' MH. The 5er had three slides and I think we technically lost "length" going to the MH with the cockpit area... but two opposing slides in the living area (and two more in the back) make this thing live large on the inside!
We owned a 25' 5er years ago with two opposing living room slides, I still miss that one. Lived huge for being so short and I could park it in any site. Sold it when the kids came long for bunkhouses and I am pumped to finally get an RV again with opposed LR slides again...
