Hi all, I am a new owner of a Class C Winnebago View. I had a class A before and it was 32 long and had auto levelers. the class C is 25 long and does not. The levelers run 5600. Do I need them, or can I just "wing it" with a level and something under the wheels? Most of our parking will be on pads. Except for the times I take my wife to see the submarine races!!

You'll have plenty of people telling you what you should have/need. I'm one who is definitely in the minority in that I don't ever bother to level. The places I stay are all relatively level. If where I park is a little too far off level I just move a few feet one way or another to get more level.I'm on my 3rd class C now and have never had any problems related to not being "level". The only RVs I ever bothered to level, or stabilize actually, were a pop-up and a travel trailer.

When I had a Class C I made 4 ramps with 2X8's. Each ramp was 3 boards 1 2 and 3 ft long screwed together to make s ramp. I could stagger the lift by setting the ramps so when I pulled up on them the unit was level. Don't use them with the fifth wheel, but do use them to raise the dually when I need to crawl under it.

My truck camper is not that different to level from a C3 twenty four inch 2X10's and 8 or so 2X4's a foot long to change the height of the ramp as needed is working well for us.

We have a 28 foot Class C WITHOUT levelers. I carry a few pieces of 2x6 and use them when needed. I am careful to ensure a rear set of duals have the same support under each wheel.

Most of the time I can "level" by moving around on the parking pad.To be level with slides out, I need to be about 3/4" to 1" high on the street side, I can usually find that on a pad crowned for drainage, or having slight ruts. If the pad is paved level, then I use a piece of plywood under the tires.For seriously unlevel sites (I try not to choose them) I have a couple sets of stacking blocks, have built up as much as 4 inches under two or three wheels to get level.

Costco sells a pair of tri-levelers that are extra wide, probably not wide enough for dullies but makes front tires easier to drive up onto, includes chocks. About $38 per pair.

I can't see investing $5000 for auto levers... carry several 1/2 inch thick pressure treated boards. I use both boards and the lynx levelers- although I had great luck with the lynx levelers with the TT, I have found the Class C to be to heavy for them- they are simply pushed into the ground from the weight of the tires. I have had two crack from the weight. My class C is 30 ft.

When I bought my 2014 Winnebago class C I negotiated with the dealer and got my auto levelers(HWH) for $3100 installed! Great deal so I went for it!

Our motorhome is 32' in length. We bought lynx levelers before the first outing. 3 sets of them. Wanted 4, but the 2 local walmarts were sold out. The very first outing our site looked pretty close to level front to back. Come to find out it wasn;t. Took all 3 sets on the 2 front wheels to get level. After that, went to lowes and bought a couple 2x10's. Cut them enough to stack 3 high, with about 12" between each level. Enought for 4 tires (all 4 in back). Haven't had to go past on piece since then.

For what its worth, I have a set of the yellow camco blocks from Campingworld and orange lynx blocks from Walmart. The yellow ones are solid and seem more sturdy. I bought this set when we first got a 5'er in 2005 and have used them in it and now MH. I've only had orange ones about one year and only used once so comment is just based on opinion of looking at them, not using them.

I use the orange lynx blocks for simple front end adjustments. also, DH made me a set of 2 x 8's joined so they span the dualies along with a strap on the end for easy pick-up and load. of course, I use them in front when working with front end adjustments, too, and they are much less prone to move or slip on me. I like to be just a touch high on the slide side so when they are out, I actually finish leveling. half-bubble works for me. walking from back to front, I don't want to feel like i'm running downhill, etc., and am usually pretty careful about leveling while DH sits behind the wheel and awaits the word on setting the brake. ;)

I also scoot around in my spot and try to get as level as possible but when that fails I have 4 Of These to get level, that is usually all I need. 2 for the rear duals and one each for the front if needed.

I used to carry wood like the others have said but found it to be to heavy and cumbersome. These are light and easy to store. I also carry a set of These, a gift, but have yet to need them.

I also use One of These to get fore and aft level as well as side to side level. I put it on the floor of the freezer to check how level it is. Works like a charm.

Go to Walmart and pick up 2 packs of Lynx Levelers. They are about $31 each and that is all I have ever needed in 3+ years. Light and easy to use and I wouldn't spend $5000 on a leveling system, JMHO
