I am glad to know that Cooper makes Hercules, it's news to me. If I'm not mistaken, Cooper/Hercules and Goodyear/Kelly are the only made-in-the-USA mfrs of tires. I just ordered a new Hercules trailer tire... an ST tire with a rare 75 mph rating!

i like my 22.5 toyos from schwab especially they are made in America

Toyo is well thought of by many RVers and another tire that is made in Korea, Hankook, is getting good marks. There are many good choices out there. It is up to you to go with what you feel good about.

I put a set of Hercules on my Dodge Ram last year. They are doing fine and they will probably be my tire of choice the next time the motor home needs tires. I have purchased my last Michelin. They are just to expensive and their warranty and factory support is just not that good. Have a Michelin failure and you are practically guaranteed that they will find it to be your fault.


While on the subject of Chinese made tires. What do you tire bashers think about the Aeolus Brand??

I also have an estimate from Les Schwab for Toyo245/75R 5/14 M-154 Highway Tire...balanced and mounted $2263.44. Is the Toyo a better choice for the extra $400?

All your replies to my post are exactly what I was looking for so I can make an informed decision. I do know that just because you buy the most expensive product does not mean you get the best overall or best for your money product. Also, I pay close attention to tire pressure and weight of my rig so I anticipate no problem there. I also cover the tires when I'm parked for longer than a week or two.

Got them in 19.5 good tire. Just replaced two due to sidewall cracking... po ran them way too low on pressure.

I personally take strong exception to the statement "is a good replacement for the Michelins". Would like to meet the sucker who made that statement.
Have used and appreciated the Michelin quality too long to believe that.
