Here I go again...

I seem to be full of questions for you readers to ponder. Here's my problem: on occasion, my 'jacks down' alarm will sound when driving. In each case, I hit the up button and it stops the alarm. I might drive another 50 or 100 miles before it sounds off again. I've never been in a position where I could pull off the road to see if, in fact, a jack(s) is partially down. So, I took it to an RV repair shop and after inspecting it, was told that all the hydraulic lines were leaking fluid. I had my doubts about that since there was no indication of oil leaks on the concrete pad where I park it and the reservoir never showed low on fluid. But, I didn't argue the point and let the mechanic go ahead with replacing all lines (thankfully, my service contract paid the almost $3K bill). I picked the RV up and on the way home (you guessed it) the alarm again sounded! I will be taking it back to the shop but would like your input regarding what you think might be causing the jacks down to alarm if, in fact, it is not caused by low fluid. Thanks! / Larry

  • Assuming you have HWH jacks on your Winnebago product and assuming they have not changed since I had one, you may be able to stop this from happening by not shutting the system off at the panel after raising the jacks. Let them time out on their own. Dont know why this works but it was what I was told and it worked for me at the time.

    X2

Hydraulic fluid expands as it gets warm. This will move the jacks just enough to turn the warning on. After I started letting the system "time out" I had no more problems.(Winne with HWH jacks)

I think the first question to be answered is...are the jacks really coming down or is it an "indicator" issue only? Once you answer that question you can proceed.

x2, this is important. Are they coming down at all?

Agree. Hope next time it 'sounds off' I'll be in a position to pull off the road and take a look.

maybe a defective jack down pressure warning sensor?

    HWH...should have listed that...
