My suggestion for renting was more to see if you fit in a particular size MH. I'd get it for a long weekend, see how you like it, and then decide what you want to buy. Usually the rental places will have a couple of different size models.
Also, you may want to consider buying a rental unit. They are usually pretty well maintained, and while the miles are high, they are usually much newer than what you are looking at.
Something to think about.
