  • Thirty years ago, 100,000 miles on a gas motor was getting to the end of its useful life. The gasoline motors built today can easily go 200,000 to 300,000 miles and still be in good running shape. Personally I wouldn't consider 50,000 miles as being high
  • Seems a little high for a 2012 unit. If it was a car, I would think it was high. You can find tons of 2012 units with just a few thousand miles. Was there anything particular with this unit that caught your eye?

Gas engines can go several hundred thousand miles with normal maintenance. If this unit is 'the one', check the maintenance history, etc. Go over it with a fine tooth comb, if it checks out to your liking and the price is right, you might be going camping next weekend!

15,000 miles per year on a car is considered average. Actually I recently read that figure is coming down to around 13,000. So I would think 50,000 miles on a 2012 model v-10 is high. Just my opinion

I would supect that is a rental unit with that many mile some models come out in the summer or fall so at most it is about 2 - 2 1/2 years old.
