  • hiway 6 spanish fork to green river is a good road mostly single lane with passing lanes . there is a lot of truck traffic as this is a major short cut from 70 to salt lake city
  • Use it all the time ..... Good road with no hard climbs or descents. Just keep an eye out for the truck traffic, but they will NOT run you down.

I-70 under construction in Glenwood Canyon. They do a good job of keeping things moving but... Check out CDOT as you go.

If that's the case a fun option is to Vernal/ Dinosaur NM (especially if you are with kids) and then down 139, only issue is you cross over the mountains and the road has a few switch backs,(not for everyone but I loved the drive and DNM is a favorite).

Just depends on what your comfort level is and what the mission is. If you are just going A to B then 6/191 is likely fastest and easiest, if you are up for Dinosaur NM and a little scenic drive through the mountains then maybe 139. Easy choice for me.

One last thought if you like just beautiful drives but easy then go on down to Moab and take Rt 128 back to I-70 goes right along the Colorado River and I will drive 200 miles out of the way to be on it if I am in the area.

    BOL,

Good road have driven it a few times with the only issue being the speed of the truck traffic. If you look at the map it is only route that get's you to I-70 and saves a ton of time vs I-15, so the trucks us it. Keep an Eye on the rear view mirror and stay out of the way, most of the truckers are just trying to make time so they are moving.

Not knowing where you are headed this road is not a problem to get you to I-70.

    BOL,
  • Its kind of rough in places, and part of it is used as a haul road. There is some climbing, some forested. We usually use it because it is a little cooler and most of the time. less traffic.
