The easy way out is leave the coach plugged in but turn the battery switch off so it's not charging from the converter.  Now plug in a good battery maintainer that is designed to be left attached to the battery (you can put one on the chassis battery too) and plug them in you can use the RV outlets if you want).  Now you will have proper battery maintenance and if the AC power fails you won't drain the battery either from parasitic loads.
