Yo don't need to be level but many things in your RV require the 12 volts to operate. The LP
ignition on the water heater is usually 12 volts as is the thermostat on the AC. The water pump is usually 12 volts but when hooked to shore water, you do not need your water pump, the incoming water pressure is all that you need.
